LocationIQ provides global geocoding, reverse geocoding, routing, and place-search services backed by OpenStreetMap data and a worldwide datacentre footprint. The API supports forward, structured, and postal-code geocoding, autocomplete suggestions, nearby place search, time-zone lookups, and turn-by-turn directions across driving, cycling, and walking profiles. Account balance can be queried to track API usage against quota.
The LocationIQ API turns addresses and coordinates into structured location data. It performs forward and reverse geocoding, structured and postal-code lookups, place autocomplete, nearby point-of-interest search, timezone lookup, and driving directions, built on OpenStreetMap data. Responses are JSON, so an agent can resolve an address to coordinates, label a point on a map, or compute a route without hosting its own geocoder.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Flocationiq.com" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Flocationiq.com" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
